No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. - Aesop
Pets are family and we know how much it hurts to see them struggling. Whilst supportive end of life treatment and care and in-home goodbyes are available, unfortunately, not everyone is financially able to obtain such care for their pets. The Sunset Benevolence Fund is designed to help pets and their families who find themselves in difficult financial circumstances.
In late 2017, an ongoing client required euthanasia for her beloved German Shepherd. This client had gone above and beyond for her four-legged friend and invested a significant amount of finances in keeping her girl as comfortable as possible over the years. Our hearts were warmed when two friends of this special client, contacted us to directly to offer to cover the cost of any further medical expenses. When it came time to say goodbye to Marie, all costs had been paid in advance. This incredible kindness sparked the birth of the Sunset Benevolence Fund.
This fund has grown from a single act of benevolence into a giving program of charity and goodwill that supports sick or injured pets when their owners are financially unable to do so and are in genuine need of assistance.
The fund is a lifeline for disadvantaged pet lovers, but it also provides an outlet for expressions of kindness and sympathy from others in the pet-loving community wanting to reach out or even donate in memory of their own beloved pet.
How does it work?
All monetary donations received go directly toward paying the veterinary bills of clients identified as being in necessitous circumstances and in genuine need of financial assistance. The fund is designed to help as many people as possible, however, it is carefully managed and applicants must meet certain criteria to be eligible.
How to donate?
The fund is generously supported by charitable contributions and donations from members of the community and we are always looking for additional donations to continue to help companion animals and the families who love them. Donating is easy. To find out more or to make a donation contact [email protected] or phone 1800 368 763.
